The temperatures are cooling down here in the South as fall makes its entrance. It’s such a refreshing time of year for me.
Have you ever wanted to tackle something but just weren’t sure you could do it? It scared you, but you wanted to at least try? I managed to accomplish that last weekend. It’s something I’ve wanted to try for a couple of months now, and I set my mind to it and was determined to succeed. I worked at it, spoke my fears, received lots of positive reinforcement and support, and then faced my fears. And I did it. I may not have done it well, but I did it. I made it in its entirety, which I wasn’t sure I could do. It was empowering. It was self-satisfying. Granted it killed me afterwards, but still, I did it. And when I did, I received more support and all of my self doubt was erased. Had I not set my mind to it and had I not received support, it would have never happened. It’s really powerful having someone(s) in your corner, cheering you on … encouraging you and believing in you (sometimes more than you believe in yourself).
I’ve talked so much about the Chicago Cubs, I need to at least give them a mention. The first two postseason games haven’t gone as expected, but we haven’t given up. Why? Because it’s gonna happen. It’s never too late. Never too late to believe in yourself, rally the troops, and give it your all. (Yes, I know that’s it’s college football season in the South … but I’m in full-on baseball mode right now. ;-) I can’t help it.)
As the week draws to a close, I hope you’ve had a satisfying one. It’s been a mixed bag of feelings for me, but with happy overtones to it. Enjoy your weekend and get re-energized for a good week to come.
