Sometimes plans were made to be changed. Wednesday night I received an invitation to attend a meeting on Thursday morning. I rearranged some things so that I could be a part of it and I’m so glad I did. Being in the presence of those who are so passionate about helping others is such a humbling experience, and the enthusiasm is contagious. It’s an exciting project and it will be even more exciting to watch it unfold.
I was reminded again of how people are placed into your life for a reason. It could be a reason that we don’t know at the time and the reason could reveal itself immediately, months or even years down the road, and sometimes never. Beyond the people who come into our life, the timing of them coming into our lives is another piece of the puzzle. If paths are meant to cross, they will cross at just the right time. Often times, they will cross again … for a reason. Since I tend to over-analyze things, I have been known on more than one occassion to really think about those who come into my life and the way in which they arrived. It’s really terribly interesting as I begin to piece it together.
I’ve mentioned the Art Heals class in previous entries, so I must share that I had the most awesome experience. This is a class that is such a great community service - it’s a free class for anyone whose life has been touched by cancer and is held the second Tuesday of each month. I admittedly cannot even draw a decent stick person - I was assured that I would leave with a painting suitable to hang on my wall. I wasn’t sure I believed it, but I am now the proud owner of a new painting in my kitchen. It was an awesome experience, an extremely fun class, and a fabulous time. Laurie Kramer taught the class and was amazing. Not surprisingly, I will probably be the subject of a story that she shares in other classes. To experience an awesome class with Laurie, please check out Art Works Alabama.
I hope your week has been as fabulous as mine. I’ve been surrounded by so many positive and supportive people that it’s made me feel almost invincible. Go out and be one of those people who makes things happen and inspires others to do their best - not just for themselves, but for others. Here’s to a great weekend for all!
