coffee and coffee cake

I’m sitting at my favorite coffee shop taking a break from the scenery of my usual office that I share with my coworkers (who just happen to each have four legs and a tail - and in all honestly I’m not sure how much they contribute as coworkers). I’m here with coffee, some awesome coffee cake and a laptop with random and happy thoughts racing through my mind. Sometimes a change of scenery is just what the doctor ordered to get a fresh perspective and to renew your spirit.

I’ve realized the impact yet again that surrounding yourself with positive and supportive people can have on you. It gives you hope, a renewed outlook, and enthusiasm. It also brings a sense of calm and peace. It’s such a better alternative than the Eeyore’s out there.

Continuing to find ways to better yourself is critical as we go on in life. I don’t think we can ever become complacent. I challenge you all to look for things you can do to improve any facet of your life. If you find something you are passionate about, share it with someone you care about. Your enthusiasm about what it’s done for you will be contagious, and they just might want to try it themselves. If and when they do, they’ll not only (hopefully) find a new passion but they’ll also be thankful that you cared enough about them to inspire them to improve. Helping each other, especially those who are important to us, is so rewarding. When you have such a positive impact on someone, it will help you as well … trust me.

The week is drawing to a close and I hope it’s been a good one for all. More importantly, I hope it’s been a profitable week. We are due for some rains from Fay this weekend, so try to stay dry. I’m signing off for now and as I do, I wish y’all a fabulous weekend. With the rains blowing in, I will likely be inside with my (above mentioned) coworkers getting caught up on some reading and projects. It will be a much different weekend for me than the last one, which will be tough to top.

Go be a Tigger and make someone’s day! And please remember to follow the motto of the Cubs this year … “It’s Gonna Happen” … because you, too, can make it happen. Make what happen, you ask? Anything you want - if you want it badly enough, you can make it happen.
