Read any good books lately?

In the most recent Napoleon Hill newsletter, Judy Williamson, Director of the Napoleon Hill World Learning Center writes:

“Reading is to the mind what food is to the body. It is a form of mental nourishment that none of us can do without. Reading opens up our self-confidence by providing us with communication tools that connect us to others. It gives us topics of conversation, areas of interest, and in-depth information on current events and historical happenings. Reading bridges the past and the future, it allows us to gain knowledge in the comfort of our own home, and it sharpens our minds because it is an active not passive practice.

Reading is like any other exercise. The more you practice, the more proficient you become. In order to be an expect reader, you must read frequently if not daily.

Dr. Hill states: “Spoken words leave impressions. Printed words leave tracks.”

Books can teach a person how to build a home, prepare a meal, meditate, raise chickens, give a speech, form a mastermind alliance, and write books. All a person has to know in advance is how to locate a good book on the subject matter of interest. Once found, a book can open doors that advance careers and prepare the reader for the next step. Give reading a try yourself and see if you don’t gain in self-confidence because now you have something valuable to share. Be careful. Reading as a form of exercise can be addictive. Remember to exercise your mind because it is your most valuable tool in your success tool kit.”
